Simera-C

Over the past few years, cinema cameras have become remarkably smaller, driving the demand for compact, high-performance cine lenses. The Simera-C responds to this need by blending the design legacy of classic rangefinder lenses with DZOFILM’s cinema DNA and cutting-edge optical technology. This fusion achieves a perfect balance between the precision of still photography and the cinematic quality of motion picture imagery within an incredibly compact form.

Being Modest for Storytelling

Simera-C delivers beautifully smooth bokeh and natural edge fall-off, offering exceptional dimensionality for storytelling. It captures a raw and naturalistic aesthetic with clean chromatic aberration control and human-eye-like field curvature even at wide open. The flare is subtly managed to capture highlights without overwhelming the image, keeping the storytelling pure and authentic.

The floating element design throughout the Simera-C series enables a closer minimum focusing distance than most rehoused or modified rangefinder lenses. This allows filmmakers to capture greater texture and detail in close-up shots, providing enhanced creative flexibility and depth

Exquisite Optics,Crafting a New Vision

With a meticulously crafted optical structure that incorporates aspherical lenses, low-dispersion elements, and high-refractive-index elements, Simera-C achieves outstanding resolution and exceptional chromatic aberration control, supporting 8K high-resolution production. The aperture blades have been increased from 14 to 16 compared to the Simera photography series, producing smoother, rounder bokeh and minimizing "onion rings" or irregular highlights. This natural and soft background blur enhances image purity and elevates the artistic aesthetics of every shot.

High Contrast forDramatic Depth

The creamy bokeh and moderate high-contrast render the layers of light and shadow with intricate detail, with a striking contrast between highlights and shadows that accentuates the subject, adding dimensionality and spatial depth to the frame. Simera-C is perfectly compatible with high-resolution digital cinema cameras that provides broader dynamic range and rich textures, enhancing the flexibility of post-production.

Meticulous Craftsmanship,Vibrant Colors

Simera-C utilizes advanced vacuum coating and multi-layer anti-reflective coatings to minimize reflections and suppress flaring and ghosting, delivering accurate color reproduction even in backlit conditions. The internal anodized matte-black finish keeps reflectivity below 3.5%, significantly reducing internal stray light reflections. This superior anti-glare capability ensures pristine image quality under complex lighting, capturing both highlights and shadows with impressive clarity, contrast, and depth.

Lightweight Durability,Unrestricted Mobility

Crafted from aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, the all-metal body of the Simera-C series balances strength and lightness. Each lens weighs between just 369-491 grams, slightly heavier than a 330ml soda can but with a more compact form. This breaks free from the traditional constraints of cinema lenses regarding size and weight, allowing seamless use across handheld, gimbal, or drone setups. The internal dust and splash-resistant design ensure reliable performance even in the most challenging shooting environments.

Streamlined forEffortless Creativity

The compact design reduces reliance on heavy cinema accessories and lightens the load for filmmakers. Multiple focal lengths can be easily packed and carried, making Simera-C particularly suited for travel shoots and documentary work where mobility is key. When paired with auto-focus systems like DJI Focus Pro, operational demands and crew burden are lightened, offering enhanced agility for solo operators and small production teams.

Modular System Integration,Expanding Creative Boundaries

The ultra-compact design of the Simera-C makes it one of the few cinema lens sets compatible with the DJI Ronin 4D. When integrated with the DJI FLEX system, complex setups like low-angle, over-the-shoulder tracking, or tight interior car shots become easy to execute. This compatibility enriches the visual storytelling, enhancing the mobility, operability, and creative freedom on set.

Cine-standard DesignBroad Compatibility

With a maximum image circle of 43.2mm, Simera-C covers full-frame sensors and is compatible with Super 35 and APS-C formats. It’s available in native Sony E-mount and Leica M-mount options.

M-mount Offers Versatility Comparable to PL-mount

With standard M-mount adapters, Simera-C lenses can adapt to various mirrorless cameras (E, RF, Z, L, X mounts) for cross-system use. With a locking M-ARRI adapter, they are also compatible with ARRI ALEXA Mini LF, ALEXA Mini, AMIRA and other ARRI systems. This exceptional compatibility makes it easy to work with everything from entry-level mirrorless cameras to high-end cinema rigs like DJI Ronin 4D, Sony Venice, ARRI, and more.

Refined Techniques for Superb Imagery

Each Simera-C lens undergoes rigorous quality control, crafted with micron-level precision using a combined milling process. This ensures exceptional manufacturing accuracy for each element, reducing optical aberrations like chromatic aberration and astigmatism. The entire series maintains consistent image quality, delivering uniform sharpness from center to edge, whether capturing wide-angle or telephoto scenes, meeting the demands of high-end production.

Simera-C Series FAQ

How can theentire Simera-C series be compatible with DJI Ronin 4D to focus?

Follow DJI’s official 4D tutorials to calibrate. If there is a situation where the focus cannot be achieved, try to increase the calibration points. This step usually helps the system better identify the target, thereby improving the accuracy of focusing.

Can the filter size of Simera-C be adapted to the 80mm standard matte box?

Yes. For Simera-C 75mm, the inner filter size is M62, and its outer front diameter is M67. For other focal lengths, the outer diameter is M62. All above lenses can be converted to 80mm diameter by using a 62-80mm or a 67-80mm adapter ring to fit in the 80mm matte box on the market.

Are all lenses shipped after focus calibration in the factory?

Yes, all lenses will bestrictly calibrated and checked by DZOFILM Quality Control department.

Lens Storage Environment and Precautions Translation

When not in use, please cover the front
and rear caps of the lens;

● To prevent mold, store the lens and filters in a cool, dry place, avoiding direct sunlight, and do not place them with kerosene or camphor balls;

● Keep the lens dry.
If it gets damp or has water droplets, please wipe it clean;

● Do not place the
lens near a heater or other extremely hot places, as it may cause damage or
deformation;

● When moving the lens
from a cold place to an area with higher temperature and humidity, fog may form
on the glass lens. To avoid fogging, allow the lens to acclimate to the change
in environment before using it.

Why doesn't the correct aperture valuedisplay on the camera when the Simera-C series is installed?

Answer: Because the Simera-C lens has no electronic contacts, the value cannot be displayed on the camera.
