All Simera 28mm lenses are Type II with a Crescent-shaped tab.

Simera series lenses add more options in different mount system, making them versatile in Sony E Mount, Nikon Z Mount, Fujifilm X Mount, Canon RF Mount, Lecia M Mount as well as Canon cameras.

  • Excellent close-up funtion: The Simera 28mm redefines environmental portraiture with its balance of creamy bokeh, natural tones, and cinematic depth. Featuring a 14-blade diaphragm for rounded highlights and artistic starbursts, along with a 0.4m minimum focus distance, it captures both expansive scenes and intimate details.
  • Minimum focal length: The camera lens includes 1 aspherical element, 1 extra-low dispersion (ED) element, and 3 high-refractive-index (HRI) elements, paired with a floating lens group to deliver unparalleled sharpness from infinity to its 0.4m minimum focusing distance. A tactile resistance point at 0.7 meters on the focus ring alerts users to switch from rangefinder coupling to EVF focusing.
  • Simple operation: Manual focus, precisely capturing every nuance within the frame. Infinity-lock Tab: Enhances stability by preventing lens rotation during installation, ensuring secure handling. Crescent-shaped Tab: Ergonomically designed for a comfortable grip, enabling smooth, single-finger focusing for seamless operation.
  • Mastering Light and Depth of Field: F1.4 is a large aperture that allows a substantial amount of light to reach the sensor. The lens creates an extremely shallow depth of field, and the background blur (commonly referred to as "bokeh" in photography) helps highlight the subject more effectively. The full-frame design meets the demands of portraiture, street photography, night scenes, and more.

Customer photo review of Simera 35mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

Amazing lens for travel and street photography. It's light, focuses quickly (thanks to its short focus throw), and the rendering is beautiful, with mostly smooth bokeh. It's sharp enough at f/1.4 and becomes exceptionally sharp from f/2.8 onward. The FLE design allows for excellent close-up shots that remain sharp even wide open. For the price, it's hard to beat. Definitely recommended. 👌

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF/X Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

Great lens, very pleasant focusing experience, nice rendering and colours

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4

The Thypoch 28mm f/1.4 delivers beautifully rich tonality and natural, nuanced colour that gives images a refined, almost cinematic character. Paired with its exceptional mechanical build and thoughtful design, it feels as precise and premium in hand as the results it produces.

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4

I love how this lens makes the subjects pop out. The build quality is also impressive - easily one of the better lenses i’ve held and operated. The vignette at wider apertures may throw some people off, but to me I feel like i’m watching images through a pinhole. This adds to the nostalgic effect it has on the pictures clicked through it. Overall I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.

The 21/1.4 is aharper than I thought it would be, even better than the MTF would lead one to believe, and my standard is Leica M and Canon L. I recommended the 28/1.4 to my son for his Canon R and he is delighted.

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4

Amazing lens... I don't even know why the shots look so good, I just know I love using it. Easily my most fun piece of glass with stunning results.

Customer photo review of Simera 50mm f/1.4

Great compact fast 50mm, love the rendering, wonderful feel in the hands. Easily adapted to multiple lens mounts. A go-to general photography classic!

Customer photo review of Simera 75mm f/1.4 M Mount

One of my favourite uses of a very versatile focal length, a short, compact telephoto option that handles beautifully and renders amazingly.

Customer photo review of Simera 50mm f/1.4

The Thypoch Simera 50mm is quietly exceptional. I first used it in Z mount on the Nikon Zf, where it immediately stood out — not through spec sheets, but in use. The build is precise and assured; the rendering carries a subtle character that avoids the sterility of many modern lenses. There’s a natural balance to the images — clarity without harshness, contrast without excess. It’s a lens that invites you to slow down, to look more carefully. I find myself reaching for it daily. I’ve since moved to the M-mount version to use on both a Leica M3 and Nikon Zf. On both, it feels entirely at home. The experience is intuitive, almost transparent. After decades with lenses across systems, it’s rare to find one that disappears so completely in the process. The Simera 50mm is not just compelling — it’s enduring.

wonderful lens! Take it anywhere with me

Customer photo review of Simera 75mm f/1.4 M Mount

A great addition to my Leica M-11 Monochrom. Beautifully sharp lens.

This is a lovely lens; it took a little time to get used to manual focus, but with punch-in to 100% on my Nikon ZF I get sharp results even wide open. Out of focus areas have a fantastic look, with nice fall off. Perfect for environmental portraits. I've also used it at f8 for zone-focusing and landscape, and f16 for starbursts. Great for both.

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF/X Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

Very nice lens, feels good in the hand. I had to really look for the "red dot" for mounting, my only complaint!. M-Mount 28/1.4 at this price? Amazing, great rendering, smooth bokeh, very happy with my purchase. Used on M11-P and M11-M, will be a regular.

Customer photo review of Simera 50mm f/1.4 Z/M Full frame Manual Lens

Great manual 50mm lens, looking forward to using it this summer

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF/X Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

Customer video review of Simera 28mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF/X Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

Beautifully crafted lens. Excellent image quality

The lens is a joy to work with and makes superb images. You need to avoid aiming straight at the sun to avoid the flares but it truly shines in every other situations.

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF/X Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

I wanted to change up my approach to photography by going with something that would force me to slow down, form my shots and take in the moment before capturing it. I looked into this lens after a filmmaker I follow showcased the cinema lenses and after a lot of review watching and research I decided to give it a try. I have to say, it’s an impressive lens and possibly one of my new favorites! I’ve gotten so used to my camera’s auto focus capabilities so the challenge this lens has brought to my more casual photography has been exciting to say the least. Looking forward to getting the hang of this thing and adding to the quality of my photo catalog!

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF/X Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

Excellent build quality, lots of fun to shoot with and the Zf focus peaking makes it easy to get great shots with this lens. It's a beautiful design with very satisfying mechanics. The Z mount looks great on this body, although the silver is ever so slightly different from Nikon silver. It is slightly too heavy for the Zf unless you use an additional grip such that it will fall forward when set down. My only complaint is with shipping; I didn't find out until the day before delivery to the US that UPS wanted 20% of the purchase price to actually deliver it. I'm glad I checked the tracking to find that out before they showed up but it would have been nice to know well in advance.

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF/X Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

Great lens, I'm using it every single day for street photography and portraits.

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF/X Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

Superbe photo quality and feels really nice to manipulate. Would've been a 5 star rating if the end caps would actually hold still. They would always fall off when the camera is on my motorcycle bag. Would've also been super nice if it was a chipped lense, to get the photos info.

Customer photo review of Simera 35mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

My Thypoch Simera 35mm f1.4 and my Thypoch Simera 28mm f1.4 have become my two favorite lenses. They offer incredible quality for my street photography. Many thanks to Thypoch for these lenses; they are excellent for me.

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4

Quite satisfied, z mount could've been chipped and shipping times could've been shorter than a month otherwise I have no complaints

Customer photo review of Simera 50mm f/1.4 Z/M Full frame Manual Lens

So far very nice.

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF/X Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

The lens feels good, looks damn good, is characteristic with a filmic touch. I‘m in love with it

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF/X Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

The Simera 28mm has quickly become my favorite lens. The 28mm focal length is incredibly inspiring and made me rediscover familiar places from a fresh perspective. I especially love the smooth transition from sharp to out-of-focus areas, it gives images a beautiful and natural look. Despite being a wide-angle lens, it also produces surprisingly pleasing portraits. The rendering has a unique character, with colors and sharpness exactly the way I like them. Build quality is excellent, and the distance scale with the red dots is such a thoughtful and enjoyable detail. It’s a lens with real personality, and I couldn’t be happier with it.

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF/X Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

This lens is just a cracker. It’s sharp with a modest amount of vintage character and it oozes style on the X Pro 2. The image quality aside, I would also say big props to the departments that handle build and product boxing. Both were spectacular.

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF/X Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

Beautifully made and a joy to use. Image quality is magical.

Customer photo review of Simera 28mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF/X Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

I Like the Look from this 28mm

Customer photo review of Simera 35mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

This lens was a definite upgrade on the Sony kit lens and my viltrox 50mm f2 air. It does pretty much exactly what I wanted it to do. Pictures seem to pop. Subject separation is very strong. Colors are warm. Contrast is pleasing and pretty. I’m getting the vintage look that I love. The lens physically looks gorgeous and the markings are very helpful for zone focusing. The focus tab is useful and the ring moves smoothly. I do wish the lens had contacts to speak to the body but I am still having a blast shooting this since all of my first lenses were manual. If they made alternate focal lengths I would definitely buy them.

Customer photo review of Simera 50mm f/1.4 Z/M Full frame Manual Lens

The lens feels and looks premium. It's very sharp, has great contrast and rendition. It would be great if they include a 6 bit code on it. Definitely a great value!

Customer photo review of Simera 35mm f/1.4 Z/M/E/RF Mount Full-Frame Manual Lens

Ok

:)

Gorgeous images, reminiscent of the best vintage glass but with a touch more sharpness and contrast. Great build quality, feels sweet in the hand mounted on my silver body Zf ( great combo). Manual focus takes a bit of time to get used to, but it is coming along nicely. Image quality is worth the effort. Missing is the coded chip which would enable a number of focus aides in my Nikon Zf. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Wait time was slightly longer than promised, but it was worth it! Simera 28mm f/1.4 is pure magic. I'll keep waiting for physically smaller lens for Fuji X mount that are as good ;)

Great build quality and it looks really nice on my Nikon Zf, love the slower more thoughtful way of making pictures with a manal focus lens. The focus ring is perfectly smooth but not too loose, makes it easy to obtain focus. Nice to have the option to make your aperture ring unclickable for video. Really happy with this lens, it has been glued onto my camera since the day I received it!

Wonderful build quality and smooth handling. Can’t be beat on price to performance comparrison.

Makes manual focus much easier than expected. Shame it doesn’t support focus confirmation without an adapter
