Voyager 24-50mm f/2.8 Full-Frame Auto Focus Zoom Lens for Sony E-Mount
The Voyager 24-50mm f/2.8 AF is Thypoch’s milestone of evolution. The internal zoom design maintains a constant, compact lens size. Featuring aspherical and high-refractive index elements combined with multi-layer nano-coatings, with a constant f/2.8 aperture from 24mm to 50mm, it delivers sharpness and smooth bokeh across the entire zoom range.
The Freedom of a Zoom, the Heart of a Prime
By utilizing aspherical and high-refractive index elements alongside advanced nano-coatings, we’ve achieved exceptional corner-to-corner resolution while suppressing aberrations and flare. Whether you seek the breadth of 24mm, the narrative of 35mm, or the emotion of 50mm, you can get the purity and clarity of a dedicated prime lens without compromising on versatility.
Consistency Across the Range
Across the entire focal range, the f/2.8 aperture remains constant, ensuring seamless exposure and depth-of-field control. The 10-blade aperture creates sunstars and preserves cinematic aesthetic.
Carry Light, Travel Further
The Voyager 24-50mm features a compact internal zoom structure, weighing in at just 432g. While maintaining a constant f/2.8 large aperture, it pushes portability to the limit, minimizing the burden on the creator.
Stability in Motion
Featuring an internal zoom design, the lens ensures a stable center of gravity throughout the zoom range and significantly reduces the physical strain during extended shooting sessions. For videomakers, it eliminates the need to re-balance gimbals; its feather-light build ensures that creativity is no longer a trade-off with physical endurance.
Technology Fades, Creativity Shines
Natively designed for the E-mount, the Voyager 24-50mm features a high-speed drive system for silent, decisive, and surgical focus. It integrates seamlessly with the latest bodies like the A7M5, A7C2, and A7S3.
Shoot Without Limits.
Every critical point is precision-sealed to withstand mist and rain. No need to worry about the weather. Rain or shine, the lens is always ready.
Just a really nice lens to have around for life's moments. I like the rendering, and it focuses well on the Sony a7v. Prefer this to the GM 24-70 f/2.8 ii for lifestyle video and daily carry. It just adds a bit more character. I'll probably use it a fair amount when I don't want to draw much attention, or when a feeling matters more than range.
I like the retro color of the lens that produces, full of character. Something is not entirely true about what some YouTubers had said about this lens. I think the auto focus is good without making noise as some YouTubers said, and that's a plus point and so is the internal focus.
I wish the zoom ring is wider than the focusing ring. Not a big fan of those diagonal lines that doesn't come with much friction. I'd rather it remain the same design language as the rest of the Thypoch cinema line.
Overall, good job Thypoch (despite your very slow delivery!) and I'm proud of you by making the first auto focus zoom lens from China!
Great lens all around, just friendly remind there will be another $80 import tax on top of the listing price when you are in the US, which does not mentioned on website.
Love it, super responsive. The zoom is clean and and smooth and goes really well on my ronin 4d.
Great customer service too, was really helpful when I had questions about delivery.
The autofocus is no good. Before the first firmware update it would back focus and not be in focus despite focus confirmation. A lens should not miss focus out the box. This is simply unacceptable when trying it for even the low stakes client work I tested this lens with, and ended up having to put it away to use my heavy old GM mark 1 which is head and shoulders above this lens. This has been seemingly mostly fixed after the first firmware update, however I still have issues with how the lens focusses. When assigned a spot focus point it will focus quick enough, but takes about half a second to focus confirm, making for a poor user experience where you either have to preempt focus confirmation or treat the lens as if it focussed as slow as a screw drive lens. I don't love the feel of the aperture ring, especially compared to the thypoch simeras I own which provide the perfect feedback, and as such I wish there was a toggle or a stronger click stop for A as it is a little too easy to slip out of. Overall, quite disappointed with the lens. I had previously been certain I would purchase most of the upcoming Thypoch AF lenses, now I am doubtful as it does not meet the expectations I had, especially with autofocus performance, especially as the motors are fast but it just isn't polished
The lens is perfect for gimal use, compact and a very useful focal range. I found the lens to be sharp and focuses well. Delivery was a bit on the slow side, but worth the wait.
I am very happy with its beautiful manufacture and it's optical quality very much. Compact and excellent.
One of the key reasons for choosing The Voyager 24-50mm is the internal focusing, and no changes in the lens length across the zoom range.
For candid people photography, it hides my image framing activity from subjects and reduces their potential anxiety.
This is even more important with tele-zooms when simple lens constructions reach out and render subjects nervous to my zooming-in.
The purchasing from Thypoch web store operated smoothly and their store handled an inquiry rapidly and to satisfaction.
Love the lenses so far. I usually have a strong distaste for zooms but i prefer ordered 2 of these and will likely grab a few more to go with some of my rental kits
Pleas make a 50-150 or 50-100 but somehow keeping it the same form factor (internal zoom, relatively small, etc) & i would preorder asap.
Would love to pick up some simera c’ lenses to match these on travel jobs.
Thanks!
