Ksana 35mm f/2 Manual Focus Lens for Leica M-Mount | Full-Frame Prime Lens

The Ksana 35mm f2 lens is very unique. The rendering of the lens is very dynamic on my Leica M10 Mono. The character of the lens is both modern and vintage as well. It's well suited to high resolution sensors and has a very unique rendering that reminds me of large format black and white film when using the M10 Mono. Since the lens is not a homage of a older design lens but a modern creation its performance is stellar on my Leica M11 or M10 Mono. It's very sharp with great dynamic range. The build quality is superb. It's a fantastic lens that should be part of any photographer's collection of primes.

Incredibly fun lens that gets all the important things right! As others have mentioned, the aperture ring’s stops could provide more feedback (ie be ‘ clickier’). It does not affect my enjoyment of this lens, but if I had to choose one thing it would be that.

The Ksana 35mm has rapidly become one of my favourite lenses. The construction, look and image quality make it extremely fun to use. The Epoch coating gives some of my images a little bit of character without being distracting. I particularly appreciate the slight detent on the focusing ring that lets me know when I've hit 0.7 metres.

The lens I’ve been looking for. Excellent build quality. Both on my Leica and the A7IV the shooting experience is phenomenal. My only gripe would be that the aperture stops aren’t defined enough, the “clicks” are extremely subtle. But this is more of a ME problem I guess. Definitely get this lens!

I’ve only shot 1 roll so far but zero complaints optically. The performance considering the size is remarkable. In terms of optimisation for the future. The aperture stops could feel more positive but that’s a personal thing. I think there is probably some improvement you could make so the aperture clicks line up better with the numbered markings on the aperture ring and more evenly space the half stop clicks. I used it with a 12504 hood and sometimes it’s not that obvious what aperture is selected as the hood makes it difficult to see. All in all a fantastic lens. Thank you. If you made a 28mm f2 Ksana with 46mm filter thread I would be interested in that too.

I repair analogue cameras running a company called PPP Cameras The lens is great ! i know alot of people are saying the clicks are too light however i find them just right , yes they are light but in use this gives you more control when using half stop apertures and more accuracy when taking meter readings. the click stop for close focus is good too as it does not need to be a hard click stop i found it to be perfect in use the focusing is not 100 percent smooth i found , but i believe this is due to the type of grease and all brass construction, not an issue at all the one thing i would note that i noticed straight away is that the lens cap for the lens does not work if i use your 39mm filter on the front of the lens overall very impressed with the design and in use , it would be interesting to see the design for the clicks in the aperture to see if they can be adjusted for a harder stop just out of curiosity as a repairer. Also looks great on my MP and cant wait for it to brass

Really love the look and size of this lens My only issue is that the focusing is a bit rough between 1.5m to infinity, like it feels gritty between those distances. Not sure if it was just my copy, would love to return my current copy for a more refined version of this lens because I really do want to love this lens

So far I have only unpacked the lens and hood was not yet able use them in practice. The lens and the hood feel very well made. Very solid. The dials on the lens runs smoothly. As expected there is just a tiny resistance to be felt when crossing the 0.7m distance limit for rangefinder focussing telling you that you have to switch to the viewfinder for shorter distances. I have not yet been able to test whether the sleek-looking lens cap also stays in place when a filter is fixed to the lens. I bought an ultra slim filter and hope that this will work out.

The aperture ring does not click and it is very difficult to set the aperture where I want it to stop. There is a very faint bump at each stop but not at all certain feeling. Also, slight de-centering, or difference in resolution, at each corner. Finally, it is otherwise a lens that I could use for some purposes, but is not the candidate for my everyday, everywhere use I was hoping to receive. I am happy to return it for evaluation and adjustment… just tell me how.

This is exactly the lens I wanted… compact with close focus, brass build with black paint, subtle markings. The aperture ring clicks are way too soft… too easy to knock it by accident. But the main issue is that the focus adjust is incredibly firm… I can’t focus with one finger, I practically need to wrench the focus. And the focus gets essentially wedged stuck at either end of travel. Would have appreciated more attention to these details!
